So the West Coast Main Line is closed after "storm Frank" damaged a bridge. Some Virgin Voyager services to Glasgow are being diverted via the G&SW main line via Kilmarnock, but Pendolino and Transpennine Express services to glasgow and Edinburgh are being replaced by buses. I think most of the freight must be being diverted via the ECML, since I haven't seen much along the G&SW. Also sleeper services are going via the ECML, but the G&SW is there as an alternative.
